Half a century on, the dream of Gaetano Aiello has now come true. A story that originated in Calabria and was based on his passion for coffee, nothing more, it now continues to live on in the homes of Italians, in offices, hotels, bars and restaurants and every other place within reach of the unique taste of his blends.
The story of the Caffè Aiello roasting company has the charming aroma of days gone by, in a land where setting up a business capable of making a name for itself outside the restricted local boundaries required a great deal of courage and determination.
Now, with half a century of history already under its belt, every single day since 1967, Caffè Aiello has been writing the pages of an adventure in which a small artisanal roasting house has become a modern company, up to date with the times, making coffee that is savoured and loved in many parts of the world.
In spring 2018, the production and administrative offices of Caffè Aiello will be moved to the new building currently under construction in the industrial area of the city of Rende.
A top quality, highly efficient project, which has involved a significant financial investment on the part of the company.
From the construction materials used to the management of the production departments everything has been conceived and subsequently designed to comply with the company’s “green” and sustainability policies. Indeed, as early on as in the planning and construction phases, the uniqueness of the project on a national scale was clear to see. Indeed, the new roasting plant will feature a series of important distinguishing characteristics, including a thermal hood over the whole building, a photovoltaic plant of approximately 120 KWp, a high energy efficiency climate control system and an energy-saving lighting design system.
A development that brings the privilege of reality to a dream, a vision that has always guided the activity of the company’s founder Gaetano Aiello, from the very beginning: that of enhancing the taste of Italian espresso by using high quality raw materials, and creating products capable of flying the flag of fine Italian production high all over the world.
The commitment to “sustainable development” is present throughout all the strategic, operational and product links in the Caffè Aiello chain. One example is “Coffee Pads”, staged in collaboration with technical and scientific partners CUEIM and UNICAL, an ongoing 2-year project of industrial research and development for the creation of two innovative products:
1) a pod that can be used both in moka coffee-makers and in espresso machines for coffee in pods;
2) a capsule for use in machines for coffee in capsules.
The company is focusing on increasing its presence internationally and incrementing its web sales and to achieve these objectives, it is constantly investing in the quality of its product, technological innovation and communication tools. An achievement of which the South of Italy can be extremely proud, an achievement proudly Made in Calabria.
