The moka pot is the ultimate brewing utensil to use when it comes to making coffee. With its history, which dates back ninety years, many coffee lovers consider it the best way to savour the drink in its most authentic, purest form.
But on the other hand, there are many others who are not huge fans of moka. This is probably because they have never selected the right quality of coffee, or the best method for making it. This is why we would like to give you a few tips for making delicious coffee with the same old moka pot you have been using forever!
What characteristics should a good coffee for moka have?
To extract the real essence of coffee, a good blend for moka must have several essential characteristics:
- The green beans. Obviously, when talking about coffee, the quality of the green beans (that is, the beans before they are roasted) is crucial. It is therefore vitally important that we only select the very best green beans, with particular aromas and tastes;
- Roasting. To make a blend that is a true symphony of aromas, our single origin beans need to be roasted very carefully. Or better still, roasted individually to ensure that even the smallest unique characteristics are respected;
- Blend. Roasting the single origin coffees individually means that the blend is not created until later in the coffee-making process. Indeed, each different type of coffee requires its own particular roasting times and temperatures.
- Grinding. The beans must be ground to obtain the right granularity so that when the coffee is extracted on the hob, we are able to make the most of our traditional 15 gr for a 3-cup moka pot;
Our coffee for moka has all of these characteristics.
Here at Aiello, we personally select only the very best green beans in the world, roasting them individually, one by one, to maintain their characteristics and blending them at a later stage in the process. And this love and care we invest in our product has a very happy ending: a unique coffee, with a refined aromatic profile, perfect for your everyday moka.
